One Piece: Grand Adventure released

Atari today announced the launch of One Piece: Grand Adventure for PlayStation?2 from NAMCO BANDAI Games. The sequel to 2005?s One Piece: Grand Battle, One Piece: Grand Adventure is once again based on One Piece, the globally successful Japanese anime and manga, and features a pirate?s hoard of graphical and gameplay enhancements.

In the role of Monkey D. Luffy players are charged with recruiting a tough crew and sailing into the sunset to see if X really does mark the spot on a quest to unearth One Piece, the almost mythical treasure hoard of The Pirate King Gold Roger. Players sail from harbour to port doing battle with a myriad of characters from the One Piece world, proving their worth to lead their ferocious crew on the awesome adventure before them. Any of the player?s shipmates can be sent into battle on their behalf, upgraded, or chosen as a special confidant by means of the new Support Character System, with the responsibility of supporting Monkey D. Luffy through all the tumultuous ups and downs of a life on the ocean waves.

The absorbing Adventure Mode boasts additional mini-game side quests, and is enhanced with a wide variety of gameplay variations including one-on-one battles, mob battles, sports, shooting and races all in the vibrant piratical tradition of One Piece. In the heat of battle players can launch spectacular special attacks taken straight from the anime using the brand new Accel-Heat System.
